Our story
MailSift is built by NORTHPIN INC, founded in 2024 to fix a small but expensive problem: developers were shipping signup flows that filled their databases with bounces, throwaway addresses, and fraud signups. The existing options were either too slow, too marketing-y, or both.
We built MailSift as the email-verification layer we wanted as engineers — one API call, fast, complete output, predictable pricing, no vendor lock-in.
Team
Engineering-led, distributed across the US and Europe. Backed by Y Combinator and operator angels from Stripe, Vercel, and Postmark.
Operating principles
Predictable APIs over feature breadth. Documentation as a first-class deliverable. Performance budgets for every endpoint. Boring infrastructure where boring is correct.
